Friday Night saw the formal opening party of one of the biggest additions to the Chiang Mai gay scene in some time. See Man Pub is a large new late night pub and entertainment venue located on the Canal Road, just off Huay Kaew Road and opposite the Phucome Hotel.
The large modern building has a stage in one corner and catwalk extending diagonally into the large open space that comprises the venue. Tables for people to stand and drink around surround the stage and fill the remaining space. Drinks are mainly Thai style whiskey bottle service, making this a place to go with friends rather than alone, though they do have some cocktails and small bottles of Heineken if you prefer. Prices are not outrageous.
The opening party show featured many acts including several ladyboy/katoey acts and plenty of scantily clad dancing guys and coyote boys. You can see a full set of photos from the event on City Now.
With shows and entertainment every night this place is fast becoming the venue of choice for Thai gay’s looking for a night out. Although not specifically aimed at foreigners, for those who still like to enjoy loud party venues and Thai style entertainment this is a place you will enjoy.
