The July Issue of Thai Puan, the free Gay Thailand community magazine, is now available at gay venues in Chiang Mai. This edition includes an article about Chiang Mai – “Sex in the city” describing where to go for some fun in the city.

You can also read Chiang Mai’s gay Go-Go Bars: Adam’s Apple, Circle Pub, Free Guy, New My Way and Power Boys, as well as information about gay male massage parlours, Saunas and Thai gay favourites such as Mandalay Bar.

Sex in Chiangmai

Other features in this edition include: “An Issan road trip”, “Samui Top to bottom” and all the regular news and features from Bangkok and Pattaya.

We came across this video on U-Tube for MaleAvenue an outcall massage service that, according to their publicity, also has masseurs in Chiang Mai.

Quote: All male buddies are selected for their good manners, good massages, pleasant personalities and submissive.

We don’t know anything about them but thought our readers might enjoy the video. Please let us know how it went if anyone tries them.

According to the site statistics our directory page for Chiang Mai’s gay massages is by far the most popular with thousands of hits per month. We assume this is because visitors know where the main bars are but are always looking for new massage experiences. There are so many in Chiang Mai now you’d need a long stay to visit them all. To help our visitors we though we’d do this article by way of an update.

Chiang Mai’s massage shops offering offering massage “for men by men”, in gay parlance often know as a “rub and tug”, are a great alternative to go-go bars with their many straight Tai Yai boy hosts. In the massage places you are sure to find friendly gay masseurs among the selection of handsome men you can choose from, that can provide a good massage with a happy ending whatever way you like it! Massage shops usually open early afternoon too, if you want to avoid the late night factor of the bars. Many types of massage service are available and, in addition to the massage charge, you are expected to give a tip directly to your masseur, usually in the range 500-1000 Bt depending on the services provided.

Although a little way out of town, off Chang Klan road near the Holiday Inn Hotel, the aptly named One 2 Come massage parlour is highly recommended for gay visitors. The neat cottage style building is discreetly located in a nice garden on a small soi offering maximum privacy. Unlike most of the massage venues in Chiang Mai, One 2 Come has en suite bathrooms with showers in every massage room and their VIP room even includes a large Jacuzzi. The beer garden rounds off the experience as you can relax with a beer before or after your massage and get to know your masseur.

Close by is the newly opened Club One Seven boutique guest house and sauna located in an old teak house right on the river. Also in that area are other massage parlours: His Club, Blues Club and the recently opened Victory Massage.

Closer to town, there are more massage choices near the night bazaar area. Hidden in the small sois is The Wall massage, which is tastefully decorated in a Thai style (some of Bon Tong’s favourite boys work here). Another nearby option is Classic House, or Two Brothers near the Loy Kroh Muay Thai complex where you can also find the fun packed Marina Bar; a full blown lady boy bar right next to the Thai boxing ring! Near the Old Peak bars on Thapae Soi 1 is M2M, or and newly opened at The Thapae Palace Hotel is HISO Spa

The Wall - Massage facilities

To the north of town in Chang Puek district, where most of Chiang Mai’s gay venues are located, you can relax at the Marn Mai Massage, or Gemini, close to the New My Way host bar. Gemini always seems to have cute boys but is rather overpriced with mediocre facilities. New in the area is Massage by Club M (same Club M as the infamous karaoke).

Other massage venues include River House, by the same people as Classic House and, as the name suggests, located in picturesque surroundings right on the river. Mystic Orient is in Chang Moi district, near Thapae whilst Sanctuary Spa is near Chang Mai gate opposite the Chinese consulate and newcomer Marspa is in the same soi as House of Male.

Many of the massage places are difficult to find, even with our map, so we have generated a special Google map of Chiang Mai Gay Massage Establishments, you can see the small version below follow the link for full size. There is also our downloadable list of venues with addresses in Thai you can show to a Tuk-Tuk driver, which includes all the massage places. Apart from getting a massage this should give you plenty of other ideas of places to go and enjoy in Chiang Mai.

Have fun but please remember to play safe and use a condom!

Latest updates to our site include adding several more venues to our Gay Massage Listings and updating our Google Gay Map of Chiang Mai

Handsome Chiang Mai Masseur

The massage business is expanding in Chiang Mai, which is surprising given the general lack of tourists. Though we understand many venues have their regular Thai clients to keep them busy. The last few days have seen the appearance of the latest editions of the free gay magazines in gay venues in Chiang Mai. Firstly the well established favourite “Thai Puan” followed this week by the second edition of new magazine “Out in Thailand”
Thai Puan Front Cover - February Out Front Cover - February

You can pick them up free from most gay venues in Chiang Mai. Out-in-Thailand is available in bookstores for 69 Bt

Out-in-Thailand is allegedly a re-incarnation of the recently failed “Spice Magazine” under a new business entity. At first glances it seems a definite improvement and we wish them well.

The last issue of Thai Puan had a great article on Chiang Mai focusing on gay massage place. Given the popularity of our own massage parlour listings this should be of interest to our readers.

Some good news that might be heralding a change in season is the re-opening of B-Beez Massage

B-Beez has always been one of the more respected Gay Massage venues with more attention to the massage itself than is found at some of the other “Rub and Tugs” in town. Of course, we’re sure that “Happy Ending” won’t be too elusive :)

B-Beez is located just off the Superhighway before the Rinkham intersection with Huay Kaew Road, or you can access it from the back of Hillside 4/5 Condos. They also have a fully licensed bar so why not pop in and share a beer with the very friendly staff.

Their website looks a little out of date but I’m sure they’ll amend that soon. we understand they’ve also got some new masseurs too.

One of the Bong Tong boys has recently gone to work at a new massage place in Chiang Mai – Victory Massage. He brought us a card which we’ve updated in our gay guide to Chiang Mai www.gayinchiangmai.com This new place is located just off Chang Klang Road south of the Night Bazaar at 152/4 Rakaeng Road. Where or whereabouts Chakka massage used to be as well as the old Ken’s Massage.

Chiang Mai of course has plenty of other gay massage facilities, which speacilise in a nice massage with a happy ending (often called a “Rub and Tug”). A quick Summary:

River House

Marnmai Chaai Khaa

N.B. Three of the above, Classic House, River House and Mystic Orient seem to have problems with their websites if you follow the links – sorry about that.

Note B-Beez massage has also now re-opened. See news item of 12th October for more details.

This time we don’t mean rainy season! But for those who like it hot and steamy, we’re happy to report that in the last year Chiang Mai has seen a 100% increase in the number of gay saunas in and around town.  Quite encouraging after the old icon that was Sparoma closed down last year.

Firstly, Freeman sauna opened.  A new, if somewhat small, facility upstairs from the Free Guy go-go/host bar, off Chang Puek Road behind the Mecure hotel.  Freeman offers  Suana, Steam room and dark room as well as a massage service by the professional “Free Guys”.  Well, they ain’t free, but some are quite cute as the bar specialises in that Thai Twink look.  The sauna is open all night on Friday and Saturday nights for that after bar fun too.  For more information: www.freemansauna.freeguy-club.com

Another newbie on the block is Club One Seven.  Famous for its large Sauna complex in downtown Singapore and more recently it’s guest house in Phuket, Club one Seven has recently opened a new location in Chiang Mai.  Situated in an old Lanna style teak house on the banks of the Ping River south of the city centre Club One Seven offers a gay friendly guest house as well as Sauna and spa facility.  If you don’t find what you want here it’s right across from the One 2 Come massage venue so you should never leave disappointed.  Our friend Frank was at the opening patty and took some great pictures.  www.asiancoop.com For more details see the Club One Seven Website

Nagaraj is a well established Sauna, Gym and massage out to the east of the city near Big C superstore.  Nagaraj is more of a Thai venue but nonetheless very popular; probably one of Chiang Mai’s best kept gay secrets as most Farang are too lazy, or apprehensive to venture out that far.  The Gym is frequented by many of CM’s most beautiful guys seeking that body beautiful (including many of the cast from Circle Pub).  For more information see theNagaraj website We understand the Massage service is very professional too.

Last but not least is the venerable House of Male, located behind the Kad Suan Kaew shopping centre.  Still the most popular sauna for the Farang crowd with a good Thai attendance too, even if the poolside can look like a scene from the senior citizens rest home at times.  Like Club One Seven, House of Male is located in a lanna style teak house, with large pool, steam room, gym, bar and lots of cruisy nooks and crannies as well as the large darkroom upstairs.  Tuesday and Thursday nights is “Buddy Night” (two admissions for the price of one) very popular with both Thais and their Farang admirers.

  1. David says:

Just for your information, there is apparently a thread running on the Chiang Mai LYC website quoting correspondence alleged to come from the owner [of Club One Seven] stating that there target market is Thai’s under forty years old rather than Farang. Make of that what you will.

    David
Admin: Post edited to remove the defamatory part of this comment. However, we checked and there certainly is a discussion to this effect on the LYC website. The revelation is surprising since the market for Thais visiting a Gay Guest House charging Farang prices in Chiang Mai seems limited. Time will expose the validity of the business plan.
